Alfred Pobi has worked in tech sales for over 15 years with major global companies including JP Morgan, HSBC, Citibank, Barclays, BNP Paribas, Societe Generale and Credit Agricole. Since March 2022 Alfred has worked for the Google Cloud Platform, which is the fastest-growing company within the Alphabet group. The platform is a suite of cloud computing solutions providing PaaS, IaaS and serverless computing environments.

Career
In his role at Google Cloud, Alfred is responsible for leading the greenfield Enterprise Financial Services sector and growing the number of new logos for capital markets. He advises clients regarding their cloud, AI, security, analytics, business intelligence and medium/long-term infrastructure needs, managing the entire sales cycle from start to finish. This entails helping clients to manage their agile cloud transformation projects and migrations from legacy applications.
Alfred previously held the post of Acuity/FircoSoft sales manager for RELX. In his role at this FTSE 100 company, which provides SaaS and analytical tools, he worked in partnership with central banks and global regulators to promote thought leadership within the industry. Here, he was responsible for securing the first new logos in more than 15 greenfield territories and closed the highest number of new global business contracts among a team of over 60 sales representatives.
Charitable Work
Sitting on the executive committee of the Black Google Network, Alfred organises community events and chairs and supports both internal and external meetings. He also holds budgetary responsibilities and contributes to the network’s diversity, equity, inclusion and equality initiatives.
Alfred regularly supports a variety of charitable organisations through donations and promotion. These include Hackney Children and Baby Bank, North London Hospice, Children Change Colombia and Little Village. The latter organisation collects donations of pre-loved items and passes them on to families in need.
Hobbies and Interests
In his free time Alfred enjoys a diverse range of hobbies and interests. These include playing football and basketball, going to the gym and athletics. He is an avid cook and particularly enjoys preparing British, European and West African dishes. Alfred loves to read – especially self-help books – and some of his favourite titles include The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, The Power of Positive Thinking, The 48 Laws of Power, The Alchemist, Calling the Shots and Sapiens.
